Branch Notice 06 June

News this week - scroll down

From your committee....

The Hawkes Bay Branch committee will meet on the 3rd Thursday evening of the month. All messages for the committee please email us by the prior Monday, when the agenda will be compiled and circulated to the Committee.

As well as caring for the finances and the Centre's property and equipment, the committee is a conduit for member’s initiatives.  We would like to support, encourage, coordinate (and help publicise) those who wish to bring life to the branch that nourishes soul and spirit.  The Centre is a great asset that has been cared for by many people over its 40+ years – it is there for us to use.  If you have an anthroposophical initiative coming to birth in you, we would like to know.  We have a website that is growing as a purveyor of information as well as a weekly newsletter for members and friends.

We invite reports on various activities or initiatives undertaken by members.

A newsletter from the committee will be sent out after the June 16th  meeting

Weekly Branch Notices - Please send any correspondence to be communicated to members and friends before Friday evening each week. See bottom of notices for more details.

Biodynamics Conference 2022 ðŸ™ŒðŸ»

Come join us online for a wonderful day exploring the fundamentals of biodynamic preparations here in New Zealand, as we breathe life into the practicality and ease of creating, storing and using preps within the community.

With core values of enhancing life rather than fighting disease, and utilizing the biodynamic preparations in full trust with deep intentions, the time is critical to come together and work in harmony with our universe, to heal ourselves and our communities.

Whether you are new on your journey of biodynamics, or a seasoned practitioner, everyone is welcome to learn, discover, investigate and reinvigorate with us. com)

Conversations

--  Anthroposophy - Culture and Spirit --

We have added a subtitle to the name of Conversations as this enables us to extend the content of our usual gatherings to include diverse themes associated with Anthroposophy.  We look forward to a variety of interesting topics in the future, interspersed with the more personal life journey contributions.

Monday Night Reading Group

A small group has been reading an interesting set of lectures on Occult Development.   This set of lecture talks of the consequence of studying Anthroposophy. It firstly details the effects on the physical body.  It goes on to discuss the effects of different diets, coffee and tea, and then comes to the question of the Astral body and changes to it.   We are currently about half way through.

We begin by taking few minutes to visualise what the current verse from the “Calendar of the Soul” is talking about.

We meet in the Steiner Centre in the small room by the door every Monday.

We start at 7:00pm punctually.

Anyone interested in this topic is invited to join us – Contact Chris Bacchus on 878 6883
or email chrsbacchus@gmail.com.

The book is a course of ten lectures by Rudolf Steiner on
The Effect Of Occult Development Upon The Self And On The Sheaths Of Man
CW145, given in The Hague 20 - 29 March 1913.  The content can be found online at
https://steinerlibrary.org/Lectures/145/RSPC1945/

**************

I have been reading articles in German from the Year Book of Goethean Science which is in German.  I also have three books from Ernst Michael Kranich, who was at one stage a teacher of science at a Waldorf School.  These are also in German.  One is on Plants, a second on Animals and a third on chemistry.  These books are intended in particular for science teachers in Steiner schools teaching these subjects.  If there is someone who would like to study these things, please contact me.  It would not be necessary to know German.

Friday night Discussion Group Meetings June

"The Friday Gatherings are from 7 to 8:30 on the 2nd and 4th Fridays of the month.  We begin with a discussion on current affairs or matters of interest to those who come, then we focus on, ask questions and discuss, one of Rudolf Steiner's Leading Thoughts where he endeavours to encapsulate the essence of Anthroposophy.  For the gathering on 10 June it will be #3.

"There are those who believe that with the limits of knowledge derived from sense perception the limits of all insight are given. Yet if they would carefully observe how they become conscious of these limits, they would find in the very consciousness of the limits the faculties to transcend them. The fish swims up to the limits of the water; it must return because it lacks the physical organs to live outside this element.  The human being reaches the limits of knowledge attainable by sense-perception; but he can recognise that on the way to this point 'powers of the soul' have arisen in him — powers whereby the soul can live in an element that goes beyond the horizon of the senses."

The others can be found at https://steinerlibrary.org/Books/26/RSP1973/
