Nursing therapies,
offered by Hawkes Bay Anthroposophic Nurses.

In a response to the cyclone impact on many people in Hawkes Bay, Anthroposophic nurses have offered a series of supportive therapy days in different locations. Such an initiative needed time to come to settle into being in recent weeks, with the decisions of where and when, evolving through connections and expressions of need.

Teams of four or five, including several anthroposophic nurses who graduated last year, have offered therapies to staff at Hohepa Poraiti and Clive, and last Monday to staff from Taikura School in the Main Room at the Rudolf Steiner Centre.

We appreciated the offer of the beautiful Centre space for the day, and the school community were very grateful for the care and therapies.

Rudolf Steiner Centre, Clinic for a day.

We will be working in the wharenui at Waiohiki Marae on Saturday April 1 alongside mirimiri practitioners, supporting the community, most of whom are living away from their homes.

The sessions involve footbaths, lower leg oilings and a rest with a heart cloth – simple and potent. The intention has been to offer some quiet relief and nourishment as well as support for uprightness as each person heads back out into their day again.

Weleda NZ staff have generously donated the substances, and the nursing team have donated their time. We have had the use of equipment from Taruna and Mary Green has been a great support looking after many practicalities and ensuring we have a continuous supply of heart cloths ready to gift.

The Certificate in Rudolf Steiner Education is held over three seminars during the school holidays.  It is designed for teachers who are new to Steiner education and for parents who may be wishing to learn more about their children's development and education within a Steiner school.

We have a series of courses starting here at Taruna over the next couple of months.  Please see:
