Hohepa wins Award

Hohepa Hawkes Bay has won the Inclusive and Diverse Workplace Award at the Good Employer Awards hosted by the Ministry of Primary Industries at Parliament.

The award recognises employers who have implemented initiatives to support an inclusive and diverse culture.

A delegation of 11 people from Hohepa travelled to Wellington to accept the award.

Hohepa was also awarded a certificate as a finalist in the Employee Development Award which recognises employers who have put in place an effective employee development programme.

Minister Damien O’Connor said the Primary Industries Good Employer Awards celebrate and shine a light on employers who put their teams at the heart of their businesses.

"All of the finalists and winners in this year's Good Employer Awards should be incredibly proud. They set the benchmark for providing productive, safe, supportive. and healthy work environments."

**Special General Meeting - Saturday 14 October

The Insurance Question

The main question seems to me to be what we should do if the Centre is substantially destroyed by fire.

Do we replace or rebuild in in the same format or take the opportunity to redesign the Centre as a purpose-built meeting place with perhaps some architectural artistic elements?

Or do we abandon the site and go elsewhere, joining with some other institution where we can share the costs of existing?

Members are invited to contribute their thoughts in writing for inclusion in this Newsletter in the weeks before the SGM.  To info@anthrohb.nz

Artistic Geometry

Robin Bacchus will resume sessions on Artistic Geometry during October.

Each time there will be a number of related forms for participants to choose from as a basis for their own project – perhaps a card for a birthday, Christmas or other occasion.

I will demonstrate how each form can be created by a geometrical processes.  Colouring of the forms is a matter of personal choice.  For those who do not have Geometrical drawing equipment (Compass, ruler, HB pencil and sharpener or mechanical pencil, white eraser/rubber, set squares, a set of coloured (aqua) pencils.) I have equipment that can be used - but bring your own if you can.

Cost: $10 Koha for the Centre.  2 hour Sessions in Centre Art Room on:

  • Sunday 1 October 2-4pm.
  • Sunday 8 October 2-4pm.
  • Sunday 15 October 2-4pm.
  • Sunday 22 October 2-4pm.
  • Sunday 29 October 2-4pm.
