Committee Meeting 'Down-under'
Yesterday the committee met to examine the past. We discovered at least 30 years of past in the form of junk shoved under the Foyer floor.
Actually we were clearing the space under the Centre so that the task of putting under-floor insulation under the Foyer, Art Room and Library - which was in inaccessible due to the junk - could be completed this summer. The insulation of the Main Room was completed last year.

With thanks for the use of Whiri's trailer, we were able to recycle some metal via Harris Scrap Metal Ltd for which we received $15.
BUT the remaining 160 kilograms of Junk was taken to the Hastings Transfer Station at a cost $76.16.......
PLEASE do not put any more junk under there again. We have weekly Red-bin rubbish collections for that.

KNOWING REALITY - Iain Trousdell
Talk invitation - 7.30 pm, Friday 7th November.
"I have been working for many years on modernising the language of Anthroposophy presented as an intuitive way of knowing multidimensional reality in an effort to make it attractive to a wide range of people.
I would like to share how this is progressing, both with my nearly complete book and more than 40 seminars to more than 1000 participants in China, Britain, Eruope, NZ and Australia.
best wishes
Iain

Meditation workshop
The decision has been made by the organisers that the meditation workshop will take place in Hastings from Friday 21st to Sunday 23 November 2025.
Thomas Mayer will also give a talk on Thursday evening, which is independent of the meditation workshop.
"Living with the Deceased and effects of materialism on the afterlife" Thursday, 20. November 2025, at 7:30 pm. Donations please.
Venue for both events is the Rudolf Steiner Centre in Hastings.
The attached flyer has all the details, including an email address for the purposes of enrolling.
So, if you would like to attend, please use the email in the flyer to enrol, do not reply to me.
Thomas and Agnes are asking if anyone could host them for four nights, i.e. Wed 19 to Sun 23 November.
The person hosting would attend the workshop for free.
If you are able to host Thomas and Agnes, please indicate this in your registration/enrolment email.

Oberufer Christmas Plays
There is quite a movement for us to find a group to perform the Oberufer Paradise Play this year.
It is not being shown as it has in the past, and quite a few people would love to be part of it.
In the Play, which is an imagination of how the beginning of the world started, it shows the creation of Adam and Eve - by the Old Father God.
They are told they have complete freedom in Heaven (Paradise), where they are, but they are not to eat of the fruit of one tree in the middle of the Garden of Eden.
The Play is introduced by “The Tree Singer” " who is like a local Village Person. He tells us what to expect from the play.
Then we see the Angel who tells us what to expect and to be happy with it.
Then we see the Father God, and He creates first Man and then Woman.
He has conversations with them and then leaves them to explore Paradise.
We see the Devil, who declares he is jealous of God and wants to undo his plan.
The Play shows the Devil tempting them and succeeding in getting them to eat the forbidden fruit of the Tree of Knowledge of good and evil.
Then we see them being sent to earth, and then the Devil gloats over what he has done. Then we see God showing there is more to this story, and the Angel comes out to tell us we are meant to enjoy this story and to take hope. And the Devil is sent to earth as a snake.
There are lovely songs and music, and we need people to take the parts:
The Tree Singer
The Angel
God
Adam
Eve
The Devil
Can people who would like to help with this, to put it on at the Centre get in touch with me and we can make a plan on how to do it.

Ruth Strong writes:
For two years now I have been teaching a number of children from our community Confidence through the art of speech and acting. I love this mahi. To respect the discovery of each individual student I work with brings me great joy. To be ever moved by the clear, precious spontaneity of their experiences is energising and the students return each week eager to play, to show responsibility with their voices and to be witnessed in their ideas.
I’d like to express my thanks to those who run our Centre. It is a very special and comforting space.
The art of of the actor is constantly in activity. Observing, absorbing feeling and filtering the purpose of the human being, contributing their findings to the healing hearts and understanding of minds.
Below is a rather big project I have been a part of over the last three years. It’s a beautifully crafted and deep piece of film.
November 6 it comes to our local screens, so please, connect with your bohemian heart, and take your best friend out for film that inspires.
