Art in the Foyer
The foyer continues to be a welcome place for artists and sculptors to display their works.
During the year, we welcomed Kathy Allan’s Angel pastels in autumn.
St Michael continues to shine his bright light in the consult room.
Danielle Bascombe-Foss brought in her acrylic paintings in May and filled the foyer with gold sparkles.
During June to August, Estella Carmichael’s paintings led us down the garden path into hidden doors and secret gardens, also displaying gorgeous butterflies.
Clayton Gibson’s Year 10 Art class brought their Pacific lino prints and paintings of birds in acrylic & resin for a viewing. They were admired by many.
In October Zahira Rickard brought her quiet NZ gardens and landscape canvases into the Centre, to be followed by Albert Stephen prints in November.
In December the bead bugs by Jill Norman arrived, and some were sold to grandparents for Christmas presents.
Also, in December Bernie heralded in Advent and Christmas with straw sculptures and stars. She has taken on seasonal displays at festival times from January 2026.
Preparations were already underway for the Model of the Foundation Stone Dodecahedron Sculpture by Rick ten Cate. Taikura Class 10 drew wonderful pastel interpretations of the sculpture, which were displayed alongside.
The Art in the Foyer not only brings interest and brightens the entrance, but some people sit and imagine what lies beyond as they eat their lunch or have a quiet moment. Thank you to all the artists who have brought their precious pieces for display.
