Notes:
Income. Room and Centre Hire is a major source of income (59%) and Member contributions have grown giving us an increased total. As interest rates have increased considerably recently for Term deposits and On-Call accounts we took $14,000 from the Current account, which doesn’t attract interest, into an On-Call account for 4.7% interest.
Expenditure. Cleaning [Cecile Hurford], Gardening [Jenny Speedy] and Lawns [Hohepa Care Team] are done and paid for weekly, and we have started a weekly Green-Bin service which means that the Centre looks clean and tidy all the time.
Physical improvements have included a 2-car parking strip, and a Shade-Sail over the Sandpit created by Jonathon Jordan. Six free-standing Display Panels have been constructed by Robin Bacchus. Four framed David Newbatt prints for Festivals have been purchased.
After Gabrielle we expect insurance rates in HB to significantly increase – we are revaluating our Commercial cover for 290m2 Building rebuild [about $900k] and the value of the contents [$170k]. The committee met with our insurers on 12 April and agreed to the above cover for a premium of $4,000; but they recommend that we get an Insurance Valuation for the building and a more detailed list of contents/plant [commercial insurance term] for next year.
